John Harper, who first played for the club in September 1949, sadly died on Thursday morning in the care home he moved into a few months ago.
John’s most recent contribution to the club was as a member of the Centenary Legacy Committee. He was Chair of selectors for many years, having played for us throughout the 50’s and 60’s. John was a Vice President of the Club and his service over the years has been exceptional. He was often watching the first team, showing his full support.
John was diagnosed with dementia some years ago but continued to try to make a positive contribution.
